The pool is open for new season!!

This Saturday, April 25th, we pulled the cover off of the pool. (No small feat, I might add.) The water was amazingly clear and inviting (thanks to Ray's diligence during the winter to make sure that the chlorine levels and algaecide treatments were kept up). The temperature is already 76 degrees, so it may be as early as this coming weekend when we jump in and enjoy! Yah!! We had so much fun last summer.

Our Knock Out roses.....

We had an absolutely lovely weekend this weekend! Ray was able to give our backyard it's first cut of the season. We also had a fun time shopping with Angie for livingroom furniture on Saturday. She found a beautiful set at Ashley Furniture and is the proud owner of a gorgeous livingroom set that will be delivered on May 16th. Thanks, Ang, for letting us tag along!!!

Getting ready for our grand-daughter

Last weekend, Ray, Jen and I visited a consignment shop called "Once Upon a Child" just to see what they had. The shop carried everything from new cribs to gently used bassinets, toys and clothes (galore). We found 2 bassinets which were used but in fantastic shape, both very reasonably priced. Jen bought one for their house and Ray and I bought the other for ours. The bassinets are on wheels so that we can keep the bassinet in the bedroom and wheel it out to the den if that's where we are hanging out. We can even roll it out on to the patio if we hanging out poolside. It ought to take us through the first few months of baby's life, then we'll pack it away for the next one...

Saturday, April 18th

On Saturday evening, we celebrated Ron's 63rd birthday at Saky's. Fortunately, the girls were all able to join us for a very fun and satisfying meal. (Not a morsel left over!)

Steph and Kylie come to play with our girls

It was such a beautiful day yesterday that we tried to be outside just as much as possible to enjoy it. Steph and Kylie came by to play in the backyard for a while in the late afternoon. All 4 dogs had a great time romping in the backyard! All pooped out, Kylie enjoyed a belly rub from her mommy, then posed for a picture before heading inside.

Tapas night, April 17, 2009

Ron is in the for the weekend so that we can celebrate his birthday (which was actually April 12th). For last night's "meal" we had a tapas bar consisting of all kinds of appetizer type items that we made - hummus and pita bread, bruschetta and crusty bread, a variety of cheeses and sausage, spinach and artichoke dip, antipasto, etc. It was such a pretty evening that we ate out on the patio. Tonight we head out for sushi!!

Easter 2009

What a wonderful Easter we had this year. Hard to believe that it was also Jen and Tim's first anniversary. Time really does go by so quickly. We had the good fortune of having all 3 girls and Tim with us for the holiday, as well as Maleah and her family. We enjoyed lots of yummy food (if I have to say so myself) and lots of fun. It is neat for me to see how my group just pitches in and helps to prepare the meal - it is truly a good time. We are glad that we could share our holiday with Maleah's family, as well. We couldn't have asked for a prettier or better day!!

Gracie enjoyed Ashlyn's "cheesy cheeks" after lunch!

Enjoying the beautiful weather (and making room for dessert!).

Grandma Dottie's Macaroni and Cheese was a particular hit with Ashlyn!!

It's a girl!!!

Jen had a doctor's appointment today, which included an ultrasound. She's 20 weeks now (believe it or not) and today is the day that she and Tim would find out the gender of the baby. The ultrasound pictures are just amazing!! Long story short, Baby Rosenfeld can now officially be referred to as Baby Girl Rosenfeld. As yet, a name has not been decided, but they have a while to work that out. How very exciting for our family!
