Photo session - February 27th, 2010

The results of today's photo session are just amazing. The ones I've added here are just a handful of those taken by Melinda. (Jen says that there is a way that I can send out a link to folder with all of the pictures. I will have to get with her to show me how to accomplish that.) I'm so excited to share these wonderful pictures with you all!

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!

Bella's tutu

Isabella had a "photo shoot" with Jen's photographer friend, Melinda this morning. In preparation for the session, Jen and I made this tutu night before last. I was happy to see how well it turned out.

Library time with Isabella - February 15, 2010

Today Ray and I were off of work for President's Day, and had the good fortune of being able to take Isabella to her Library time session. There were lots of little ones from 7 weeks to around a year and a half at the session. Mr. David, the librarian, read us some fun books and we sang songs together. Afterwards, there was a puppet show about Grandpa's farm! It was fun to see how the little ones enjoyed being read to and also their reaction to the puppet show. Once the puppet show was over, Mr. David put out some books to read. Dr. Seuss is my favorite - hopefully, he will be Bella's, too!

Goodbye Mrs. Snowman

Ray made this snowman yesterday for Bella while there was still a good bit of snow on the ground. I took these pictures this morning; as you can see, most of the snow has melted. By late this afternoon, Mrs. Snowman had pretty much bit the dust. I will spare you the gory graphics of her demise!

Video - Bella and her Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper - 2/13/2010

Bella loves her activity center! It's fun to watch her development from week to week. Last week, she pretty much bounced in it, but this week she figured out that she can play with several of the activities. There are points in this video when she appears to be looking down or resting her head. In fact, she is looking at herself in a mirror positioned under the frog that she spins on occasion. Also, when she appears to be staring out into space, she is actually looking at the 3 dogs who are all standing at the patio door. (Precious and Gracie are quietly sitting there, but loud mouth Lovey is barking in the background and startling her.) We are just having so much fun watching her grow up! I must say, though, that it is happening way too fast.

Our blizzard continued - February 13, 2010

For just a brief time we had a glimpse of a winter wonderland. We had the worst snow storm since I moved to SC in 1988 - 8.6 inches (actually, the 5th worst daily snowfall in over 100 years). More than once in the last 2 days, I have seen adults (and I'm talking about people in their 40's) out playing and making snowmen with the snow. It is some how exhilarating to witness!
By this afternoon, our girls were pooped out from playing. Gracie and Lovey are sprawled out in the den, while Precious rests on the patio stoop.

Video - This is what we woke up to this morning...

I was trying to find the dogs playing in the snow, so the camera moves quite a bit. You may need to take a Dramamine before watching this!

Friday, February 12th, 2010

No, this is not a picture from our trip to Wisconsin in December! This was taken by Tim today, February 12th, in Columbia, SC!

The first picture was taken at around 6 this evening and the other at around 8. We are getting some pretty serious snow for SC.

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Jen and Bella came over to hang out with us on Sunday. We had a "fashion show" featuring knitted hats that I had made last winter while Jen was pregnant. The little hats finally fit Bella and will work for next year, as well. They are all cute, but the blue one looks the best with her eyes, I think. In the afternoon, Jen and Isabella posed for Grandpa outside with their sunglasses on. Too cool for school, you guys!
