Baby Girl update - July 24, 2009

Yesterday evening, Jen began experiencing what felt very much like contractions. The contractions and pressure continued fairly regularly through the night and this morning. This morning, she went to the doctor to get checked, even though her next appointment isn't until next Wednesday. It turned out to be a false alarm, but the doctor did tell her that her cervix is soft and flat (not dilated, though). Just means her body is starting to get ready for Baby Girl's arrival. The next few weeks should be interesting and exciting!

Nifty, nifty - look who's 50....

I had a wonderful birthday weekend so far (this was the big 5-0!). We started it out by seeing the Trustus Theater production of "The Rocky Horror Show". On Friday and Saturday, we soaked up some sun beside the pool. Last night, the girls, Ray, our friend Ron and I had a great birthday meal at Saky. More time in the sun today. Ray and I took off Thursday through Monday, so we have one more day to enjoy.

My birthday dinner at Saky (one day early). The girls, Ray, Ron and I had a wonderful meal of sushi at Saky on the 18th.

Calamari rolls. These looked funny, but they were really yummy!

4th of July 2009

What a fun 4th we had! Maleah, Ashlyn and their grandparents joined our clan for swimming, food, and conversation. The weather was just beautiful; what a relaxing way to spend the holiday!

Baby Shower - June 28, 2009

Last Sunday, June 28th, Tim's Aunt Merrie threw a baby shower for Baby Girl (Jen and Tim, too). She, friends, and other family members did an absolutely wonderful job with the refreshments and decorating. The tables were decorated with books that were gifts to add to Baby Girl's bookshelf. What a cute idea. We had a really nice time and enjoyed some of the best turkey salad I've ever had (Merrie's recipe - it would be a good one for the cookbook this year!), as well as deviled eggs, other relishes, a cute cake and cupcakes. Thanks to Aunt Merrie and all of the hard work!
